Detmar

Detmar Meurers is Associate Professor of Computational Linguistics at the Department of Linguistics. He started the OSU ICALL Research Group in 2003 and currently is the PI of the TAGARELA project where he co-designed the system architecture that is also used by the WERTi system. He implemented the WERTi system. His research interests in the project center on the interface of NLP and linguistic modeling, learner modeling, and activity models for real-life foreign language activities.

vanessa

Vanessa Metcalf is a Ph.D. candidate in computational linguistics, with ICALL as focus of her PH.D. research. She is a driving force behind the WERTi research and her ICALL research interests include detection and diagnosis of word order errors, deep-processing methods, NLP technology reuse, automatic exercise generation, and activity design.

Luiz

Luiz Amaral is a Ph.D. candidate in computational linguistics and a specialist in foreign language teaching. He is a co-designer of the TAGARELA system and co-author of some of the work on language awareness underlying the WERTi system.

Chris

Chris Kovach is a Japanese major at OSU. As a Student Technology Consultant with the HIS Instructional Technology group, he co-designed an early web interface and the images for the site.

Cory

Cory Shain is a Linguistics major and joined the project as a Student Technology Consultant as part of the HIS Instructional Technology group. He co-designed the images for the site and an early web interface.
